Handwriting orders, searching for up to date product information, continuous back and forth with sales support. These frustrations can be eliminated with technology. To minimize these frustrations all you have to do is replace your notepad for an iPad! This article will help guide you in choosing the best iPad for you.
There are four things to consider when buying an iPad
- iPad Model
- Storage
- Wifi or Wifi + Cellular
- A good case
- iPad Model
Almost all iPads will work for AMP (the oldest iPads made prior to 2012 will struggle if you have a large catalog). As a general rule we can promise compatibility with are the two most recent models of iPad.
We recommend the following models:
Most Popular →
iPad Pro – 12.9in (1st generation 2015)
iPad Pro – 10.5in (2nd generation 2017)
iPad Pro – 12.9in (2nd generation 2017)
Lowest Price →
iPad Air 2 (only refurbished sold on Apple’s website)
iPad – 9.7 (5th generation 2017)
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND: iPad Mini
- Storage
Any size will work for AMP! All the new iPads come with plenty. If you are using the iPad for things other than AMP then you would want to take storage into consideration. Storage range is from 32GB to 512GB. The amount of storage will affect the price.
iPad Pro (1st generation 2015) – 32GB, 128GB or 256GB
iPad Pro (2nd generation 2017) – 64GB, 256GB or 512GB
iPad – 32GB or 128GB
- Wifi and/or Cellular
The ability to connect to wifi comes with all iPads. The iPad with Cellular data allows you to hook up to the data network on your provider (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile). This means you can access the Internet even when you are away from home, which is great for those who travel a lot and don’t always have access to a Wi-Fi network. Data charges will be applied and will vary depending on your carrier. You do not need Wifi to use AMP but you do need it to send in orders and sync manufactures databases. These two things can be done at the beginning and end of each day so we DO NOT think having cellular is a must. - Types of case
We HIGHLY recommend getting a case to keep your iPad safe.Below are recommendations for cases with a hand strap that are the easiest to hold while working with customers.
